Less than a lifetime ago, 16 states in the US had laws on the books that made it illegal for people to marry someone outside of their own race. That changed on June 12, 1967 with a SCOTUS decision (Loving v. Virginia) which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in those states. #LovingDay
